Wil Southfield-based real estate group to host food drive “Christmas in January” Thursday in Troy to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.
From 8 am-3 pm, representatives of groups of’ll in Sheffield Farbman Office Park to collect nonperishable items. Suggested donation is jam and canned tuna, salmon, chicken, ham, soups, chili, beef ravioli and lentils. There is also a need for healthy snacks for kids, such as granola bars, pretzels, fruit and juice box Cup.
Christmas in January, the theme of “aims to raise awareness for community outreach throughout the year,” said the release of the organization. This will be the third year to the food drive.
“The first two years we have hosted our Christmas food drive in January, we raise thousands of pounds of food and cash donations to feed hungry people in southeast Michigan,” Group President Andrew v. Farbman said in a release. “We are very grateful for the generosity of our tenants and for the community comes together again this year to help our neighbors in need this winter.”
The trucks will set out the Sheffield Office Park to store donations.
